THQ Nordic is a global video game publisher and developer headquartered in Vienna, Austria, and operating as a subsidiary of the multi‑brand Embracer Group Founded in 2011 under the name Nordic Games GmbH, the company rapidly expanded through acquiring IP from multiple defunct publishers—including JoWooD, DreamCatcher, and most notably the bankrupt THQ in 2013—and secured the THQ trademark in mid‑2014.
